How to Get to Monte Cristi

from Santo Domingo

Take Caribe Tours from 27 de febrero. Buses leave in the morning at 6:30 am, 8 am and 9:30 am. They leave at 1 pm 2 pm and 3:45 pm in the afternoons. The cost is about 400 DOP.

from Santiago

Take Caribe tours from los Jardines or las Colinas buses leave los Jardines in the mornings at 9 am, 10:30 am and in the afternoon at 12 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:30 pm and 6:15 pm. These are the buses that leave Santo Domingo. These buses make a stop in las Colinas before continuing to Monte Cristi. The cost is $210 DOP

You can also take Expreso Liniero from la Parada 30 de Marzo (the slower buses) or la Rotunda (the faster buses). This bus service starts at 6 am and ends at 6pm. The cost is $230 DOP.

from Puerto Plata

Imbert – Puerto Plata taxi station, take the Navarrete – Puerto Plata taxi to Navarrete. This is the final stop. Just next to this stop is a pick up point for Expreso Liniero to Monte Cristi. The cost from Puerto Plata to Navarrete is $100 DOP and

from Navarrete to Monte Cristi is about $200 DOP.

from Dajabón

Dajabón also has two transportation options. Caribe Tours is the fastest, but it is less frequent with three buses in the morning and three in the afternoon. The first bus leaves at 6:45 a.m. and the last one leaves at 3:15 p.m. The cost is $ RD50.

Expreso Liniero operates more frequently with buses leaving every 20-30 minutes from 6 am to 6 pm.

Note that there are several checkpoints on the road from Dajabón to Monte Cristi. On market days, the trip from Dajabón to Monte Cristi can take more than an hour and a half.
